Loyalty
Your loyalty program rewards repeat customers: they earn points on every sale, and spend those points as store credit off a later one. You set how fast points are earned, and — if you want — the smallest balance a customer can redeem. Manage it under Settings → Loyalty.
Loyalty is off until you turn it on. While it’s off, no points are earned or redeemed — but your earn rate is remembered, so you can switch the program back on later without setting it up again.
Turn the program on
Section titled “Turn the program on”- Go to Settings → Loyalty.
- Switch Loyalty program on. It reads Customers earn and redeem points while on, and Turned off — no points earned or redeemed while off.
- Set your earn rate (below), and a minimum to redeem if you want one.
- Press Save changes.
You don’t have to be the owner — anyone with settings access can set loyalty up.
Set your earn rate
Section titled “Set your earn rate”The Earn rate (%) is the share of each sale that comes back as points. It’s worked out on the sale’s total before VAT (after any discounts), and 1 point is worth 1¢ of store credit.
So at a 2% earn rate, a $50 sale (before VAT) earns 100 points — $1.00 of credit toward a future purchase. Points are always rounded down to a whole point.
The rate can be anything from 0.01% to 100%, with up to two decimal places.
Set a minimum to redeem (optional)
Section titled “Set a minimum to redeem (optional)”By default a customer can spend points as soon as they have any. If you’d rather they build up a balance first, set Minimum points to redeem — the fewest points a customer needs before they can redeem. Leave it blank for no minimum.
It’s a whole number of points (100 points is $1.00 of credit).
How customers redeem
Section titled “How customers redeem”Points are spent as store credit on a sale — 1 point comes off as 1¢. There’s nothing to convert: a customer with 250 points has $2.50 to put toward a purchase, as long as they’re above your redemption minimum. Redeeming draws their balance down; earning on new sales builds it back up. For how an operator spends them at the register, see Redeem loyalty points.
Coming across from Loyverse?
Section titled “Coming across from Loyverse?”Loyverse loyalty points aren’t carried across when you import — a balance a customer built up in Loyverse doesn’t arrive in Swann Retail, and a past sale partly paid with Loyverse points imports with that portion left off (see Why your reports can differ). Loyalty in Swann Retail starts fresh: points accrue from the sales you take here once the program is on.
