The guest order-status page
Every restaurant order gets its own status page on the web — a page a guest can open on their phone to watch their order come up, without asking at the counter. It updates itself as your kitchen works the ticket.
The status page is part of the Restaurant add-on and follows the kitchen display — see The Restaurant add-on.
How a guest reaches it
Section titled “How a guest reaches it”Each order carries its own private link. A guest gets to their page from the link on their receipt — the receipt carries a code they can scan or tap to open just their order’s page. Each link is unique to one order, so a guest only ever sees their own.
What the guest sees
Section titled “What the guest sees”The page shows where the order is right now, in plain language:
- Being prepared — the kitchen is working on it. While it’s still received or being prepared, the page also shows how many orders are ahead of theirs in the queue (e.g. 2 orders ahead of you), so the guest knows roughly how long to wait.
- Ready — Your order is ready! — time to come to the counter for collection.
- Cancelled — the order was cancelled.
The page refreshes on its own and follows the same steps your team works on the kitchen display: as a ticket moves from received to preparing to ready, the guest’s page keeps up. It stops updating once the order is ready or cancelled.
Delivery orders
Section titled “Delivery orders”A delivery order shows a delivery-progress view instead of the counter-collection one — from awaiting a driver through to delivered. Delivery is a separate add-on; ask Swann Software.
