Loyverse sync overview
Swann Retail can keep a two-way sync with your Loyverse account. It’s built for a smooth move: you keep selling in Loyverse while your catalog and customers come across, and changes flow both ways until you’re ready to switch over fully.
Three ways to run
Section titled “Three ways to run”Swann Retail runs with Loyverse in one of three modes:
- Two-way sync — changes flow both ways: Loyverse activity comes in, and your Swann Retail edits go back.
- Inbound only — the mode new connections start on. Loyverse activity keeps flowing in (live sales, receipts, catalog changes), but your Swann Retail edits no longer go back to Loyverse.
- Import only — Swann Retail is your main system; the ongoing sync stops entirely, but you can still import from Loyverse on demand. Switch to this when you’re ready to go fully live.
See Sync mode — two-way, inbound only & import only for how to switch and exactly what changes.
What stays in sync
Section titled “What stays in sync”These records sync both ways — a change on either side is carried to the other:
- Items and their variants (name, price, SKU, category)
- Categories
- Customers
- Stock levels (inventory)
Your Loyverse sales come across too
Section titled “Your Loyverse sales come across too”While you’re on two-way sync, every sale you ring in Loyverse flows into Swann Retail on its own — usually within a couple of minutes. Each Loyverse receipt lands as a completed order dated when it was actually rung (a refund comes across as a return), so your Swann Retail reports and customer history show all your sales, from both tills, on the right day.
This one is one-way: Loyverse sales come into Swann Retail, but sales you ring in Swann Retail are not sent back to Loyverse. So during a side-by-side run, ring each sale in just one system — don’t re-enter a Loyverse sale in Swann Retail, or it’ll be counted twice. Your older Loyverse sales, from before you connected, come across separately as a one-time load — see Importing past sales.
What doesn’t sync
Section titled “What doesn’t sync”- Sales back to Loyverse. The sales sync is one-way (Loyverse into Swann Retail, above) — nothing you ring in Swann Retail is pushed back.
- Employees aren’t synced — Swann Retail checks your Loyverse account and store when you connect, but never brings across or pushes back employees.
- Tax rates back to Loyverse. Your rates come across at the first import (each item keeps its Loyverse rate), and Loyverse’s own later changes still flow one way into Swann Retail — a new rate you add in Loyverse is adopted automatically, and a changed rate is flagged for you to review rather than applied silently (see Conflicts & errors). What doesn’t go back is the other direction: rate edits you make in Swann Retail are never pushed to Loyverse — you manage your rates here from then on.
In inbound only, even more stays put: on top of the above, your own catalog edits and deletions also stay in Swann Retail and aren’t pushed back to Loyverse — only incoming Loyverse activity keeps flowing.
What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”- Changes you make in Loyverse appear in Swann Retail within a couple of minutes; changes you make in Swann Retail are sent to Loyverse within seconds. See What syncs, and how often for the detail.
- Swann Retail never silently overwrites your data. If a record can’t be synced cleanly — because it was edited on both sides, or it uses a Loyverse feature Swann Retail doesn’t model — it’s recorded for you to review. See Conflicts & errors.
- Connecting and managing the sync is owner-only.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Connect your Loyverse account.
- Map your stores to locations so synced data lands in the right place — nothing syncs until at least one store is mapped.
- Let the one-time import bring your catalog across.
- Keep an eye on conflicts and resolve anything that needs you.
- When Swann Retail is your main system, switch to import-only.
