Suggested reorder
Suggested reorder is your buying list. It shows every tracked item that has fallen to or below its reorder point, with how many Swann Retail suggests you order. Open it from the Reports menu.
Suggested reorder needs the View reports permission — without it, it’s hidden from the menu.
The list
Section titled “The list”| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Item | The item and variant (for example Shirt (M)), with its SKU. Click it to open the item. |
| On hand | How many you have now. An OVERSOLD badge means you’ve sold more than you had. |
| Reorder point | The level at which the item shows up here. |
| Suggested order | How many to order. |
The list covers your whole business, not one location at a time. Only stock-tracked items appear (see Track your stock). When nothing needs ordering, it reads Nothing needs reordering.
How the numbers are worked out
Section titled “How the numbers are worked out”An item’s reorder point is the first of these that’s set:
- the item’s own reorder point,
- your business’s default reorder point,
- the item’s low-stock threshold (or your business’s default low-stock threshold).
Its suggested order is the first of these that’s set:
- the item’s own reorder quantity,
- your business’s default reorder quantity,
- otherwise, enough to top you back up to the reorder point.
The suggestion is always at least 1.
Set an item’s reorder rules
Section titled “Set an item’s reorder rules”You set the rules on the item, not on this screen:
- Click the item in the list to open it.
- In its stock section, press Reorder on the variant you want to change.
- Fill in any of Low-stock threshold, Reorder point and Reorder quantity. Leave a box blank to use your business default; a blank reorder quantity tops up to the reorder point.
- Press Save reorder rules.
Clear override puts the variant back on your business defaults. The reorder quantity must be at least 1.
Keeping the list fresh
Section titled “Keeping the list fresh”The bar above the list shows when it was last Updated. It refreshes itself every 30 seconds for about five minutes after you open the page, then says Automatic refresh paused — press Refresh to bring it up to date and start it refreshing again. A sale you’ve just rung can take a minute or two to show up here.
