Build your menu
The Menu screen shows your catalog laid out the way a food menu reads — grouped into sections by category, with the order of those sections arranged to suit your service. It’s a view over your existing catalog, not a separate list: every change here updates the same items you sell everywhere else.
The Menu screen is part of the Restaurant add-on. If you don’t see Menu in your Catalog menu, it isn’t on your plan — see The Restaurant add-on.
How the menu is laid out
Section titled “How the menu is laid out”Open Menu from the Catalog menu. Each of your categories becomes a section — a card with the category name, a count of the items in it, and the item tiles below. Items that aren’t in any category collect in an Uncategorized section, which always sits last.
Each item tile shows the item’s name and price. The price and every other detail are the item’s own — the Menu screen just arranges them; it never gives an item a different price here than it has anywhere else.
Arrange your sections
Section titled “Arrange your sections”Every section card has Up and Down buttons. Use them to move a section to where it should read on the menu — starters first, mains next, and so on. The order you set is saved and is the order the menu reads in.
The first section can’t move up and the last can’t move down, and the Uncategorized catch-all always stays last.
Add an item to a section
Section titled “Add an item to a section”Press Add item on a section, then pick an existing catalog item to move into it. Its price and details stay the same — you’re only choosing which section it appears in. If every sellable item is already in that section, there’s nothing left to add.
To create a brand-new item, add it under Manage your items first; it then appears here ready to place.
Edit an item
Section titled “Edit an item”Press Edit on an item tile to change its name, its price, or the section it sits in, without leaving the Menu screen. Saving updates the item everywhere it’s sold.
Remove an item from the menu
Section titled “Remove an item from the menu”Remove from menu takes an item out of its section — it moves back to Uncategorized. The item stays in your catalog and can be added back to a section at any time; removing it from the menu never deletes it.
Modifiers and the menu
Section titled “Modifiers and the menu”An item’s modifiers — the sizes, temperatures, and toppings a guest chooses — are set on the item itself, not here. Once attached, they follow the item onto the menu and onto the register.
