Sync mode — two-way, inbound only & import only

Swann Retail runs with Loyverse in one of three sync modes. You pick the mode under Settings → Loyverse sync, and you can switch between them whenever you like.

  • Two-way sync — changes flow both ways: activity in Loyverse comes into Swann Retail, and your Swann Retail edits are carried back to Loyverse.
  • Inbound onlythe mode new connections start on. Loyverse activity keeps flowing into Swann Retail — live sales, receipts and catalog changes still come across on their own — but your Swann Retail edits no longer go back to Loyverse. Swann Retail is your main system, while Loyverse stays in step as a source of incoming activity.
  • Import only — Swann Retail is your main system and the background sync stops entirely. Loyverse activity no longer comes across on its own; instead you import from Loyverse on demand when you choose.

The important difference between the two “one-way” modes is what happens to incoming Loyverse activity: inbound only keeps it flowing minute to minute, while import only turns it off and leaves you a manual pull. Both stop your Swann Retail changes from going back to Loyverse.

  • Two-way sync — while you’re moving across and want both systems kept fully in step: changes you make in either system are carried to the other. Turn this on if you’re still editing your catalog in Loyverse and want those edits mirrored into Swann Retail and your Swann Retail edits mirrored back.
  • Inbound only — the everyday starting point: you’re ringing real sales in Swann Retail and it’s your main system, but you’re still taking some sales in Loyverse (or letting staff edit there) and want that activity to keep landing in Swann Retail. Your Swann Retail edits stay in Swann Retail.
  • Import only — once Loyverse is no longer part of your day and you only want to reach back to it occasionally: import your catalog, customers and stock and your past sales when you choose, with no automatic flow in between.
  • Your Swann Retail edits stop going to Loyverse. Prices, items, customers and stock you change in Swann Retail stay in Swann Retail.
  • Loyverse activity still comes across on its own. Sales you ring in Loyverse — receipts and card payments — still flow into Swann Retail’s reports automatically, and the hourly check that catches deletions and category changes keeps running. Nothing incoming goes quiet.

When you switch to import only:

  • Your Swann Retail edits stop going to Loyverse — the same as inbound only.
  • New Loyverse activity stops coming across on its own — including live sales. Any sale you ring in Loyverse — receipts and card payments — no longer flows into Swann Retail’s reports automatically, and changes you make in Loyverse (plus the hourly check that catches deletions and category changes) stop appearing too. If you’re still taking sales in Loyverse, they won’t show up in Swann Retail until you switch back to inbound only or two-way sync.
  • The one-off import still works. You can still pull your catalog, customers and past sales across on demand when you choose — see Importing your data and Importing past sales. That’s a manual pull you trigger, not the automatic minute-to-minute flow.

In short, import only makes the background sync go quiet and Loyverse becomes something you pull from when you choose, rather than a system kept in step minute to minute. Your connection and token are kept — nothing is disconnected or deleted. Import only is a mode, not a goodbye.

  1. Go to Settings → Loyverse sync.
  2. Find Sync mode and choose Two-way sync, Inbound only, or Import only. A short note explains what the chosen mode does before you save.
  3. Save.

Switching is always reversible. Move back to two-way sync (or inbound only) and the sync picks straight back up on its normal schedule — nothing is re-imported, and no data is lost either way. Managing the connection is owner-only.

Whichever mode you’re in, a few things can come up at import time — review them under Sync health:

The conflicts that only come from two-way sync — like edited on both sides — don’t happen in inbound only or import only, because your Swann Retail edits aren’t being pushed back. See Conflicts & errors for the full list.
