The course pass
The Pass screen shows every course that’s been fired to the kitchen today, across every table, so whoever runs the pass can see what’s waiting to go out and how long it’s been up. Open Pass from the Sales menu.
The course pass comes with the restaurant coursing add-on, which is separate from tables. If you don’t see Pass in your Sales menu, it isn’t on your plan — contact Swann Software to add it.
What’s on the screen
Section titled “What’s on the screen”Each open order is a card, headed with its table name — or Takeout, Delivery or Counter when it isn’t at a table. Inside, each course has its own row, in course order (so starters come before mains):
- Course 1, Course 2 … — the course, as you tagged it on the order (see Courses & seats).
- On the pass (amber) — the course has been fired to the kitchen and hasn’t been served yet. Next to it, how long it’s been up: <1m, 12m, 1h 05m.
- Served (green) — the course has gone out to the table.
Mark a course served
Section titled “Mark a course served”When a course leaves the pass, press Mark served on its row. It changes to Served. If it doesn’t go through, you’ll see Couldn’t mark served — try again. Pressing it on a course that’s already served does no harm.
You need the Sell permission to open the pass. On a shared register, it goes by the permissions of the staff member signed in with their PIN.
Keep it up to date
Section titled “Keep it up to date”The pass refreshes itself every 15 seconds, all through service, so new courses appear without you touching it. If it loses contact, a strip at the top tells you it’s Not updating and when it last did — it keeps retrying, and Retry now tries straight away. The screen covers today on your store’s clock; reload the page after midnight to start the new day.
When nothing has been fired, the screen reads The pass is clear.
