Signing in & finding your way around

Swann Retail runs in your web browser — there’s nothing to install. This page covers signing in, the one-time setup an owner does on first login, and how the app is laid out.

  1. Open Swann Retail in your browser.
  2. Enter your email and password and press Sign in — or press Continue with Google to use your Google account.

If your email or password is wrong, you’ll see “Invalid email or password.” — check them and try again. Forgotten your password? Use the Forgot password? link to reset it. New to Swann Retail? Press Create an account to sign up with your email and password (or Google) and go through the first-time setup below. If you were invited to an existing store, sign in with (or create an account for) the email you were invited on — see Inviting your team.

The first time the owner signs in, Swann Retail walks through a short 5-step setup. The button at the bottom moves you on once each step is filled in.

StepWhat it asks for
1Welcome — choose the country where your store operates.
2About you — your first and last name.
3Your business — the legal name, the display name shown on receipts, and (optionally) your VAT registration number, which prints on customer receipts.
4Business address — the address printed on your VAT receipts. Address line 1 and city are required; address line 2, island / region, and postal code are optional.
5VAT — whether your store charges VAT, and the rate to start with.

The last step sets up your tax from the start. Answer Yes to “Does your business charge VAT?” and Swann Retail creates a Standard VAT rate for you — 10% to begin with, which you can change right there if yours is different. Answer No and your Standard rate stays 0%. Either way you can change the rate, or add more, later under Settings → Taxes (see Tax rates & VAT).

Press Finish setup on the last step and you’re taken to your store. Swann Retail is currently available in the Bahamas; if your country isn’t listed, the wizard tells you how to register your interest.

After signing in you land on Overview — a grid of tiles, one for each part of the app. It’s a launcher, not a dashboard, so there are no charts here; tap a tile to go straight to that section. The same sections live in the menu down the left:

  • Catalog — your items (and categories and attributes).
  • Sales — the Register, New Sale, Orders, and Customers.
  • Reports — your sales and inventory figures.
  • Settings — your business details, staff, discounts, and devices.
  • Integrations — your connected POS (Loyverse) and sync health.
  • Support — help and how to get in touch.

To search, click the Search… box at the top of any page (or press ⌘K / Ctrl K). To sign out or edit your own profile, open Account under Settings.

Your menu may differ from the list above: some tiles and menu items only show for owners or for staff with the right permissions, and a few extra entries under Sales (such as Quotes or Balance owing) appear only when the matching feature is switched on for your store.
