Line templates
A line template is a saved set of custom lines you ring often — like a standard engraving job or a made-to-order trophy — kept ready so you can drop the whole set into a sale in one tap instead of typing each line out every time. Each line on a template carries a description, a price, a quantity, and an optional note.
Line templates are an optional feature. If Line templates isn’t in your Settings menu, it isn’t switched on for your store — the rest of selling works exactly as it does today.
Save a line template
Section titled “Save a line template”Go to Settings → Line templates to keep your reusable line sets. Press New template and fill in:
- Template name — what the job is, e.g. Single-column trophy.
- One or more lines, each with:
- Description — the line as it should read on the sale, e.g. Engraving — per line.
- Price — the unit price for that line.
- Quantity — how many to add (defaults to 1).
- Note (optional) — default instructions for the line, e.g. standard engraving wording.
Use + Add line to add another line, or the ✕ to remove one (a template always keeps at least one line). Press Create to save it. You can change or remove a template later — see Edit or delete a template.
Add a template to a sale
Section titled “Add a template to a sale”While you’re building the cart (Ring up a sale), find Add from template next to the item search and pick one from Choose a template…. Every line on that template drops into the cart as a custom line — its description, price, quantity, and note — and from there you can edit, discount, or remove any of them just like a line you added by hand.
The picker only appears once you have at least one saved template, and it clears after each pick, so you can add another template straight away.
Edit or delete a template
Section titled “Edit or delete a template”From Settings → Line templates, use Edit or Delete on any template in the list. Deleting a template only removes it from this list — sales you’ve already built from it keep their lines, because each line is copied onto the sale at the moment you add it.
Who can use line templates
Section titled “Who can use line templates”Creating, editing, and deleting templates needs the Manage settings permission. Adding a template to a sale at the register is part of the normal selling flow — anyone who can ring up a sale can use it.
